• Loyd Auerbach has been investigating the paranormal for over 30 years. He holds an MS in Parapsychology from John F. Kennedy University. He started the parapsychology program at JFK and still teaches the subject today.

  • He also holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Northwestern University, where he focuses his studies on supernatural folklore and beliefs.

  • He has authored nine books on the subject of parapsychology, including ESP, Hauntings, and Poltergeists: A Parapsychologist's Handbook; Ghost Hunting: How to Investigate the Paranormal; and A Paranormal Casebook: Ghost Hunting in the New Millennium.

  • He is also on the Board of Directions for the Rhine Research Center, which focuses on the scientific approach to paranormal research.

  • Loyd has been on hundreds of paranormal investigations over the years, so he completely understands what these investigators experience. 

  • He has a lot of experience talking people down while they are terrified or overwhelmed during a paranormal investigation.


  • He started a network of field investigators in 1989 known as the Office of Paranormal Investigations.

  • Early on in his career, he was a professional mentalist and a psychic.
